Welcome to Infinity

This blog is sprinkled with a bit of insanity; however, the main source of my writing is to just write. I have no purpose other than lately, I have been feeling a bit not myself. It happens from time to time, but I was listening to a Jango radio station that I created from a musician that I often listen to when I feel like I'm about to go off the deep end. As I listened to some of the songs, a lot being just passed on because I don't like them, I thought of something. My mind and my soul is deeper than the farthest depths of the Mariana Trench, something that I can only use for comparison as it is maybe the deepest thing that exists on this earth. Of course, many people can say that. What I write is of no importance to anyone other than myself. However, the outside world only gets a glimpse at less than 1% of my internal world. My internal self is full of color and vitality, and I am a Phoenix so full of fire that sometimes I explode into colors of red, gold, crimson, yellow and beyond....

Let me preface with an introduction of myself. I met my husband by chance in 2013. We were married shortly thereafter. It was a whirlwind romance. He's Korean. I'm American. He's a firstborn son in Korea, so there are a lot of added cultural responsibilities that I did not know I had. In later blogs, I will discuss my cultural experiences. East met West. They fell madly in love, and thus ensued a tumultuous romance befitting of a feature film. I'm not gonna lie. My life is like a film in both good and bad ways. I never could have imagined getting to this point, but here we are.

My flair for the dramatic, and my temper hasn't faired well in this very Korean family. Showing emotion is taboo. Sometimes, the ideals presented to me are from an era and a place lacking feminism, and I have come to realize just how much of a feminist I am and have been my entire life. I will say this, though, I will not go down without a fight. I am a persistent woman, and I am very stubborn. Get into a fight with me, and you will lose...is often how I think of myself. I have had to relinquish some of that in order to keep the peace. So....from this point on, I will chronicle my daily life in blog form.
